Despite their men’s team’s subpar on-field performance, Manchester United made a record £666.5 million last year.
Last season, United’s Premier League finish of 15th was their lowest since the relegation campaign of 1973–74.
But the beginning of their five-year front-of-shirt sponsorship agreement with Snapdragon allowed them to report record commercial revenue of £333.3 million, and in the year ending June 30, 2025, matchday revenue also set a record at £160.3 million.
Chief executive Omar Berrada stated, “To have generated record revenues during such a challenging year for the club demonstrates the resilience, which is a hallmark of Manchester United.”
“We are putting a lot of effort into making the club better in every way as we get settled into the 2025–26 season.”
Berrada stated that United is building “for the long term” but made no mention of the team’s dismal start to the current campaign.
A total loss of £33 million is a 70.8% decrease from the £113.2 million loss the year before.
According to United, they “remain committed to, and in compliance with, both the Financial Fair Play Regulations of UEFA and the Profit and Sustainability Rules of the Premier League.”
Based on the club’s £651 million in revenue from the previous year, Deloitte named United the fourth-highest revenue football team in the world in January.
First place went to Real Madrid (£883m), then to Manchester City (£708m) and Paris St-Germain (£681m).
